2020 will go down as one of the weirdest years for a generation. Lockdown has affected us all, each of us having our own, individual struggles.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to stop and reflect on my life, where it is, and where it is going. I love judging dressage, and will continue to train, and hopefully move up the lists. These past 2 weekends I have been out experiencing post lockdown judging, with my writer not with me in the car.
I also love coaching, and I needed to consider the balance between coaching and judging. I was filling my weekends with judging dates and not leaving myself time for coaching. This is something I intend to change.
I also intend to make more productive use of my Centre 10 training, and this is where my package "Let's Get Going" was born.
Out of saddle conversations about where you are with your horse, where you want to be, and how you may be able to get there, can make your mounted sessions much more productive.
It is also a great way of making sure you use your time wisely when schooling on your own.
When you go into the arena:
do you have a plan?
do you know what you are aiming for?
do you stop when you achieve it?
All 3 are good ways of keeping schooling productive & keeping your horse interested, avoiding those boring, pointless circles.
I am happy to arrange out of saddle planning sessions, either face to face over coffee, or via Zoom or Facetime, and you do not have to be a current client (for mounted sessions) to benefit from this.
One of the major changes to come out of Lockdown is the use of Zoom and other forms of face to face chat through technology. We no longer have to meet up face to face for coaching. Virtual meetings are definitely here to stay, which means that I can offer off horse coaching no matter where you are, even if distance prevents me coaching you face to face.
Horse ownership is about so much more than riding, and that is why I am proud of my affiliation with the British Horse Society, and will be offering training in horse care and management through the Challenge awards, or, if you prefer to follow the professional assessments, stages 1, 2 & 3.
